Criteria for clearance by nursing staff

Below are listed the criteria that a patient must fulfill in order to be cleared for surgery by the nursing staff at the POAC without need for further review by an anaesthetist. The following areas are covered:

  • history
  • examination
  • investigations
  • scoring

If any of these criteria are not fulfilled, the case should be flagged to the consultant anaesthesiologist on duty for the clinic.
